Tempestuous Fall was formed in 2011 by Australian multi-instrumentalist Dis Pater (Midnight Odyssey, The Crevices Below. The band was created to give Dis Pater another avenue of music to perform that didn't exactly fit in with his main one-man band, Midnight Odyssey.

Dis Pater released this projects debut in July 2012, titled The Stars Would Not Awake You, via I, Voidhanger Records.

In October 2013 Dis Pater announced, via Facebook, that he laid to rest both The Crevices Below and Tempestuous Fall.
